The Buying and Selling of Products and Services
Your data is collected during the buying or selling of the products and services we offer so that we can contact and communicate with you during this process. It allows us to keep you informed and offer a high level of service.
The Maintenance of any Products Purchased
We will keep you informed of the maintenance requirements of your purchases including service and MOT reminders. We will also notify you of Safety Recalls and quality campaigns if they are brought to our attention. We may use this information for quality surveys and use the information we gain from these to improve our service in the future.
To Provide Marketing information and Offer Personal Invitations to Events
With your consent we will send you periodic marketing material which may be of interest to you regarding a future purchase. We may also send you invitation to special events included new product launches and events.
For Accounting and Contractual Purposes
We will keep individual accounting records of your transactions with us. We will use your information to administer your account including debt recovery. We may use your information to share with statutory authorities as required by law.
Who we share your data with:-
As part of the sales process we will share your information with the manufacturer of the products that you have purchased. This will allow the setting up of contractual warranties, the processing of those warranties, the notification of any future recalls and for them to conduct market research through quality surveys to ensure that you have received a suitable level of customer service during your purchase and ownership of their product.
Ancillary Product Providers
As part of the sales process we will share your information with additional product and service providers directly connected to the purchase of your product. Examples of this are insurance product providers including breakdown recovery agents, IT and in car system providers, warranty providers, asset protection providers, accessory providers and vehicle valuation and checking service.
Financial Service Providers
With your consent we will share your personal information with specific Financial Services Providers in order to establish financial agreements for the purchase of our products and services and to check the status or provide information about existing financial agreements.
Marketing & Media Partners
With your consent we may send your details to specific marketing & media partners who will contact you with periodic marketing offers on our behalf.
There are a number of occasions when it is necessary to share your information with a statutory body as part of the purchase and/or ownership of a given purchase or service. An example of this is the purchase of road tax for a vehicle and notification of change of ownership of a vehicle to the DVLA. If your transaction includes cash payments above a certain threshold we are required by law to contact the relevant governmental bodies and make them aware of the transaction.

The length of time that we will keep your data will depend on a number of factors. The length of time of your ownership of a vehicle or product with have a bearing on this but we must also take into account the length of time that we are required to keep information for individual transaction by the statutory authorities. This is so that this transaction information can be reviewed for taxation and audit purposes.
Typical retention periods are five years for inactive electronic records and 10 years from the production of paper records. Once we no longer need to keep your data we commit to delete or dispose of it in a responsible manner.
Under Data Protection Law you have a number of rights with regards to the personal data that we hold for you. You have the right to access your personal data and have it corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete. In certain circumstances you can have it erased, restricted or transferred to a third party. You also have the right to object to it being processed and this is the case we would investigate to ascertain if there were grounds to uphold your objection. If you objection was upheld we would remove your data.
Certain uses of your data as detailed above under ’how we use your data’ require your consent. If you have provided consent for us to use and process your data for this purpose you have the right to remove that consent at any time.
